I need a opinion on this used mercury 70 hp outboard boat motor. Here is the eBay item number: 2802175. I would like to put it on my 1965 Sea Ray 16′ 6″ motor boat. The boat can take up to an 80 hp out board. I no it needs some work.
my suggestion is never buy any motor on ebay. before buying get a professional mechanic to inspect. if it has been in saltwater there can be interior corrosion. needs to be water tested and operarted to check for overheating, oil leaks, compression and exhaust color. be very wary.
