How to Repair or replacement ball and the rail connection on a rod of 4.2 L Ford Econoline E150 Cargo Van V6?
Hi joints ball and rod rail on my Ford E150 Cargo Van V6, 4.2 L has to be replaced. Before taking it to a mechanic for your estimate thought to be useful to be armed with an idea of how much work as it really should cost. So how much parts and labor on a job like this please? Or is this something I can take if I bought the parts. And yet, how many pieces? Thank you!
Hey JB you can do the job alone. and save about $ 400. a shop will charge about 600 to repair, as you can buy the ball joints and tie rods for about 100-200 depending on where you receive them. boards are a pain in the ass and if they are original will be fixed in Just take a grinder and grind the 3 rivets and hitting them with a punch. Will new bolt and tie is just a matter of undoing the pin and loosen the nut and the expert to take a rubber hose dead blow hammer and hit the top of the stud to take the nut and then out of the socket configuration. then need for an alignment shop and have to adapt the front.
