How do you adjust the idle on a 2004 Harley FLHPI?
I just bought a used 2004 Harley Road King FLHPI Fuel Injected. The idle is a bit too low for my taste. How do you adjust the idle on a bike like this? Is there a thumbscrew somewhere, or does it require something else.
I ask this because the engine seems to vibrate more than other Harleys I have ridden. Bringing the RPM up a 100 or so smooths it out. The engine is currently idling at 1000, +/- 100….
No screws to adjust… EFI sensors decide whats up measuring everything from throttle position to manifold air pressure. If your idle is 900 rpm or so you are fine… the only guys that can ‘remap’ your system is HD unless you change the ECM which can be mapped by an independent shop. ECM’s (electronic control module) are expensive.
