The husband died 2 weeks ago, the wife doesnt ride, he left behind a HD Road King Classic, is it a bad time?
to ask her if she would be interested in selling that bike to me?
Its either a 2000 or 2001 FLHRCI Road King Classic, low miles, everything and i mean EVERYTHING (accessories) on it.
i don’t have the courage to walk up and knock at her door and ask her if she wanted to sell it , yes, just being honest I want to take advantage of her and get the bike at a bargain price, but I just don’t know the right way to approach her and whats the right words to say?
Should I just walk by and say how sorry I am about her losing her husband and then stike up a conversation on how he loved riding his HD and how nice his bike is and tell her what a nice guy i am and how much i love HD’s too and its just too bad how such a nice bike is going to waste, and lead her into asking me if I wanted to buy that bike or not?
Tough situation. She might want to hold onto it as a memory to him.
If you do go over and talk to her about it, then I would definitely say something along the lines of, “I know your husband really liked this bike and I understand you might want to keep it as a reminder of him, but if you ever think about selling it I would be very interested.”
I wouldn’t start off with that, just maybe bring it up during normal conversation.
