High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Live Kicking was a BBC Saturday morning childrens magazine programme, running from 1993 to 2001. The fourth in a succession of Saturday morning shows, it was the replacement for Going Live , and took many of its features from it, such as phoneins, games, comedy, competitions and the showing of cartoons. Once Live Kicking had become established in series two, it reached its height in popularity during series four, when it was presented by Zoe Ball and Jamie Theakston; their final episode won a BAFTA award. However, the success of the series began to decline when Ball and Theakston moved on, and were replaced by Emma Ledden and Steve Wilson. It was during their tenure that ratings started to fall. Additionally, SMTV Live, shown on ITV at the same time as Live Kicking started to become popular, and viewers began to switch over to watch that instead. For the final series of Live Kicking in 2000, the format was revamped with a lineup of four presenters, and new opening titles. However, this did little to bring back viewers. High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles They Live is a 1988 science fiction/horror film directed by John Carpenter, who also wrote the screenplay under the pseudonym Frank Armitage. The film is based on Ray Nelsons 1963 short story Eight OClock in the Morning. Part science fiction horror and part dark comedy, the film echoed contemporary fears of a declining economy, within a culture of greed and conspicuous consumption common among Americans in the 1980s. In They Live, the ruling class within the moneyed elite are in fact aliens managing human social affairs through the use of a signal on top of the TV broadcast that is concealing their appearance and subliminal messages in mass media.
