Harley Davidsons – and my next bike?
I have a sportster 883 low. I’m ready for a bigger bike. Being a female and only 5’1″, what’s the next bike? Most are too wide in the seat (yes I could get another seat), or don’t sit low enuf. I’ve been told a Fatboy would be good. Are there any short women out there with suggestions?
I guess I want a different bike because the Sporty isn’t good for long rides. It’s a real rough ride – takes bumps hard, etc.
A Fatboy would be one of my LAST suggestions (just as ANY of the FLs would be). Like the other person, I would also recommend an FXDL (Dyna Low-Rider), but my REAL question would be why you’re moving away from the Sporty. If you’re wanting a bigger ‘feel’ you could easily change the tank and bars and accomplish that. If you’re wanting more performance – that’s easy too (keep in mind that sportsters ARE the factory’s choice for race bikes).
