Harley Davidson Parts Manual

harley davidson 1987 softtail?
Bought a used 1987 Softtail, 15,000 miles and boom the other day and bolts were loose on tappid block and push rods bent and broke the tappit block. Guess locks were not tighted. I will need a manual, but does anyone know of a website where you can down load parts of a manual.
As a tech, the dealerships I have worked at very seldom have the older service manuals (pre 1990). I’ve been buying service manuals off of e-bay for about 3 years now.
I would be willing to bet that it’s more than broken tappet blocks and bent push rods that are damaged. (probably scored/or warped lifters, scored cam) and the heads need to come off to be inspected along with the pistons. Any way you look at it, the whole top end needs to be inspected to make sure what is and what’s not damaged. I’ve seen a damaged valve destroy and entire engine to the point it was not worth rebuilding. This is not meant to scare you but only to inform you.
If someone hits you with a repair bill for more than $2200.00 then take the bike to a dealership and have them re-man the motor that way it comes with a 1 year unlimited mileage warranty from Harley.
Check the Harley web site for re-man info.
