Harley Davidson Xr1200 Exhaust
Harley Davidson Sportster?
I am looking into getting a new bike for around town rides and also long distance, like 4 hours. I have settled on a sportster, but I can’t decide between the XR1200, or the Nightster. Any suggestions? Also, I have heard the sportsters are known to scrape the exhaust pipe and foot pegs if you do to sharp of a turn. is this true?
The Sportster will suit your needs. A nimble bike around town with good torque which is a pleasure to have in stop and go and quick enough steering for in town situations. I have experienced some scraping of the exhaust pipe in a borrowed bone stock roadster but this was at a severe lean angle on a road with a steep crown. For the most part it is not worrisome. A 4 hour ride falls well within its capabilities and it will take to the highway just fine. If around town is your main use it’s a good choice. The addition of a gel seat and removable windscreen makes highway travel a bit more comfy. Ah now which one to choose. close your eyes and picture your fantasy ride. Quick! Which one are you on? That’s the one to get.
