Honda Motorcycle Carburetor Parts

Anyone know about older motorcycles?
Hi, i bought a 1982 honda magna 750 for $1000 and after riding a while i realized that the the carburetor needs worked on. So i took it to a honda shop which charges $65 per hour to work on bikes. and they say the carbs need cleaned and parts replaced which totals out to $380 for parts and $390 for labor. which means i have over $1700 in the bike, but the tech told me that thats the only problem and it will run great after that. am i getting screwed you think? do i have to much money in the bike? thanx
You have to understand the dealer has a very high overhead and they don’t use anything but Honda parts.R&R carbs and clean is 4-6 hrs flat rate.I can usually get complete rebuild kits for all four carbs for around $60.00 so in my shop the rebuild is $2-300.00 labour and $60.00 parts so max is $360.00 + taxes.I suggest you look for an independent shop to do your repairs.
