Honda Motorcycle Oil Recommendations

Recommendations on buying 01 Honda Shadow VLX 650cc used?

This bike has 8996 miles on it, never been dropped, red and chrome with saddlebags and sissy bar. Private seller is asking $3000. I am a 23 year old female who is new to riding (well…driving) a motorcycle…I will be getting my licence this month. I am also only 5’4” tall. Is this a good bike to get? Is it the right size for me? Does the price sound fair or is it worth more/less? How much should I plan to spend on maintenance yearly (i.e. oil, tires, tuneups)? Please let me know any advice you have for me!
Purchased the bike today…it’s actualy a 600cc and is the deluxe model. I paid $2800 and he threw in a free tire and spare fender. Thanks for the info!

Motorcycle consumer news says that this year bike would cost about $2300. With this type of bike, its pretty much gas an go. Low yearly maintenance cost. Sit on the bike and if both feet are flat on the ground you should be comfortable. Just change the oil before putting it away for the season. Best of luck.
