I want to know miles per gallon on a Harley-Davidson softail deluxe? Now Harley-Davidson says it’s 50hy-35cty
If you want to figure the miles per gallon of your own Harley, the simplest way to figure it is to fill up your gas tank and note the odometer reading. Drive it for awhile, then fill up the tank again. Take the odometer reading at this point, then subtract your starting reading. This gives you the total miles driven. Divide the miles driven by the amount of gas that you put in the second fill-up. This will give you the actual miles per gallon that you experienced.
Yours may vary from the estimates based on your driving style (lead foot?), amount of stop and go traffic, and vehicle maintenance. The listed MPG figures are federally mandated measurements under an idealized version of ‘typical’ driving.
