Finance, Lease or Buy another used car from a owner?

Does anybody know a decent car dealership in NYC area? I’m on my second used car and it is a nightmare. I am not rich, so buying a $40k car is out of choice menu. I have a 97 Altima I wonder if I trade it in and throw some $$$ if I can finance a car? Im hoping for something at a fair rate. Don’t have a credit history, i don’t mind a 2000 – 05 vehicle as long as it runs fine, doesn’t have SERIOUS issues. I hope this doesn’t sound like alot. But I am tired of buying clunker that break after 2-3 months or end up doing serious repair. My father told me “buy a used old car you buying someone’s headache” Thank you

Leasing can be a bad plan if you drive a lot and aren’t sure if you may go over the milage limit but a good thing for dependability payments wise and repairs wise. Finacing. . . I don’t like giving away money in interest to banks. Maybe buy a used certified type for cash if possible.
