Whipple Supercharger

Whipple Supercharger
What is the difference between a supercharger, turbo, blower, etc. Whipple?

I mean that almost all do the same but what is the difference between them. They also work more specifically some cars and not fade. Sorry if I sound naive I just do not know as much as possible.

The compressors are usually the belt from the crankshaft, and are direct drive positive displacement "Linear" power increase across the range. Supercharger addition, because the linear power of choice is typical for endurance racing. Turbochargers are driven from the pressure of the gas flow, are somewhat way to recover some "free" energy that would otherwise be lost in the exhaust but also adds a little weight and complexity, especially if you also use heat exchangers to cool the intake charge for more power. The compressor is usually a centrifugal type, which has a nonlinear response to be delay sensitive and giddy behavior in the power curve, or when out of the total power or kicked in the power of the wheels turning. Turbos can "blow valves "that make a noise that slow you down some tuners seem to find the blow off" the most fun song vocally.

Abraham Whipple was an American revolutionary naval commander. Whipple was born near Providence, Rhode Island and chose to be a seafarer early in his life. He embarked upon a career in the lucrative West Indies trade, working for Moses and John Brown. In the French and Indian War period, he became a privateersman and commanded privateer Game Cock from 1759 to 1760. In one sixmonth cruise, he captured 23 French ships. He sank the first British ship of the American Revolution, the British schooner HMS Gaspee. The first to unfurl the Star Spangled Banner in London, he was also the first to build and sail an oceangoing ship 2000 miles down river from Ohio to the Caribbean, opening trade to the Northwest Territory.
